The Gold of a garden
Discover the gardens of Alchemy and Gold
Reorganized around the central basin according to the concepts of the Renaissance and the principles of Le Nôtre, the gardens show two mysterious themes, related to the history of places: gold, found 2 centuries BC by the Lemovices and Alchemy, studied by the steelmaker which was Antoine Chapelle, 1st Earl of Jumilhac (1597).
Thus, “the gold of a garden” under their symmetrical aspect, reveal through flower beds protected by a Bower, a labyrinth of plants and his darkroom, a garden of roses lined with boxwood (renovation in 2011) and a mini solar system with flowery planets, fabulous worlds led to hopes, wealth, discoveries, technical knowledge… but also to splurge, disappointments, misery , conflict and persecution!
Then go to their meeting from April to October, unaccompanied tour (written explanations).
